What are the bearings?
The bearings are mechanical devices used to reduce the friction between two objects in rotary motion.
They consist of two rings of different diameters called "slewing rings", between which the main elements are positioned to which various functions are entrusted, such as supporting the rotating element, reducing rotation friction, preserving the rotation seat and reduce the danger of dust and debris entering the ball working areas.
The bearings are composed of three different elements:
Outer ring, or larger circular element
Inner ring: smaller circular element
Rolling component (s): in the case of mechanical bearings are the various types of rollers or balls and their cages.
This is the simplest and clearest definition of what bearings are, as you could spend hours and hours writing here; since the "bearings" are a broad topic.
But ... what are deep ρουλεμαν ?
Deep groove ball bearings are also called "deep groove" and are used in various applications as they have a simple structure, cannot be disassembled, are suitable for very high speeds and have modest requirements with regard to service life and maintenance .
Deep groove ball bearings are ideal for medium axial loads in one or both directions and are available in different variants of insulation and lubricants for different service conditions.
Deep groove ball bearings have numerous clearance and tolerance classes for different service conditions.
RADIAL BEARINGS WITH A BALL WHEEL
Radial ball bearings can be supplied open, ie without gaskets, and have grooves in the outer ring to house the seals; or supplied in versions with screens or with sliding seals on one or both sides. These bearings, with shields or gaskets, are lubricated for life and require no maintenance.
They must not be washed or heated to temperatures above 80 ° C.
Radial ball bearings with screens are produced in two versions, identified with the suffix Z and ZZ, while the version with contact seals, is supplied with single lip seal (RS) or with double lip and with labyrinth on inner ring (RS2) . If the seals are present on both sides they are indicated with suffix 2RS or 2RS2.
The screens are made of sheet steel and usually have the cylindrical section in their hole to form a long labyrinth with the outer cylindrical surface of the inner ring, while the sliding seals are made of NBR with metal reinforcement.
These bearings are used in all those applications where the inner ring rotates. In the case where the outer ring rotates there is the risk that, at high speeds, the grease escapes from the bearing.
Radial ball bearings can be supplied in the following versions:
without gaskets, defined as "open"
open with anchor ring
with "ZZ" screen on both sides and anchor ring
with screen "Z" on the opposite side and anchor ring
Depending on the series, executions and dimensions of this type of bearings (radial bearings with a ball crown) are provided with the following cages:
they can be made from strip, in steel sheet, centered on the balls
they can be massive in brass, centered on the spheres
they can be massive in brass, centered on the outer ring
they can be massive in brass, centered in a single body
they can be injection-molded, snap-in, in polyamide 6,6 reinforced with fiberglass, centered on the spheres
riveted, in sheet steel, centered on the balls.
Radial ball bearings with polyamide cage 6.6 can be used at temperatures up to +120 ° C
